Mixed Flowers and Berries
This painting was one of my assignments for the Society of Botanical Artists. There were 12 assignments and a diploma portfolio and sketchbook to complete.

This is my latest painting.

They are Hypericum leaves with raindrops.

Painted in watercolour and Gouache.

It was painted from my own photographs taken at Ness Gardens in the rain.

I love painting raindrops and have just started a new one with autumn leaves.

Sarah Wood DipSBA

This is me, receiving my SBA diploma from Margaret Stevens at the award ceremony in Westminster Central Hall, in London, this evening.

After the ceremony there were drinks and sandwiches and a chance to look around the exhibition.

This wraps up two-and-a-half years of work, and it is both a happy moment and a sad one that it is now over. So now, roll up my sleeves and to some painting of my own.

Irby Artists Exhibition

I am entering five pictures into the exhibition. I always enjoy an Irby day, it is very exciting. The exhibition is of a very high standard. It is open from 10.00am to 5.00pm, food and drinks are available to buy throughout the day. So if you are in the area, come along and enjoy.

SBA Silver Jubilee Exhibition

Very excited. I have three paintings in the SBA Exhibition at Westminster Hall in London (SW1H 9NH). The exhibition runs from 16th to 25th April 2010. Each of the paintings will be for sale. Free admission. If you are in the area why not pop along and have a look.

Spring Showers

Rhododendron sinogrande

This was painted from sketches I took at Ness Gardens. The background is the pine wood that is a feature of the gardens that I am particularly fond of.
