My painting of Autumn Leaves won a highly commended, the Barbie Coates Trophy (for visitors choice), and was sold at the Irby Artists Autumn Exhibition yesterday. It was an excellent exhibition, and there were many visitors to it all day. I always enjoy the Irby exhibitions, the standard it really high, and the paintings are so varied and interesting. The committee work very hard to make it a sucessful day. I did my bit helping with the washing up after all the tea and scones.

This is my latest painting.
They are Hypericum leaves with raindrops.
Painted in watercolour and Gouache.
It was painted from my own photographs taken at Ness Gardens in the rain.
I love painting raindrops and have just started a new one with autumn leaves.

Sarah Wood DipSBA

This is me, receiving my SBA diploma from Margaret Stevens at the award ceremony in Westminster Central Hall, in London, this evening.

After the ceremony there were drinks and sandwiches and a chance to look around the exhibition.

This wraps up two-and-a-half years of work, and it is both a happy moment and a sad one that it is now over. So now, roll up my sleeves and to some painting of my own.
